Position Title: Student Volunteer
Term: October 1–December 31, 2025
Location: Philadelphia, PA (hybrid–virtual and in-person availability required)
Reports To: Executive Committee Member
The Philadelphia chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA Philly) is seeking a motivated, local college student to serve as a Student Volunteer for Fall 2025. This is a hands-on opportunity ideal for junior or senior undergraduate students studying public relations, communications, marketing or related fields who are eager to gain real-world experience and build professional connections.
The Student Volunteer will support administrative operations, participate in board meetings and assist with chapter programming—including the 2025 PR Institute (a fall career development workshop series) and the Pepperpot Awards (an annual celebration of regional PR excellence). This role offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at the workings of a PRSA chapter and direct engagement with PR professionals throughout the region.
Meeting & Event Dates:

December 16, 2025 – December Board Meeting (5:30–7:00 PM, In-Person; location TBD)
Time Commitment: Approximately 5–8 hours per week, including monthly board meetings, support tasks for ongoing committee work and attendance at PRSA Philly events (1–2 per month). Hours may vary slightly depending on event schedules and key deadlines, particularly in the lead-up to the Pepperpot Awards.
This is the first time PRSA Philly is introducing a student volunteer position, and the selected candidate will play a unique role in shaping the future of the program. Your input and feedback will be valued as we develop what this opportunity can look like in future semesters.
Role Description

Provide onsite event support for PRSA Philly programming initiatives and events

Assist with copywriting for PRSA Philly marketing materials and social media accounts

Help support the Secretary with creating agendas and note-taking for chapter meetings

Assist with various workstreams and tasks related to Pepperpots Awards in December

Collaborate with multiple committees (e.g., Programming, Membership, Communications, etc.) to complete cross-functional projects and tasks

Other administrative duties as assigned
Requirements

Current college student studying Communications, English, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; copywriting and design experience preferred

Organized, with a strong attention to detail

Ability to attend and staff events at various locations in the Greater Philadelphia region (1–2 per month)

Membership in Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter preferred but not required
