Why did you become a member of PRSA? Why PRSA Philly? What made you take the next step to get involved?
I joined PRSA because I was looking for a community of public relations professionals I could learn from, network with and grow alongside. I had such a positive experience as a member of PRSSA at Arcadia University that joining PRSA felt like the natural next step in my career. PRSA Philly stood out because of its welcoming, engaged members—especially Mike Gross, APR and Fellow PRSA, who encouraged me to get involved—and its commitment to supporting communications professionals at every stage of their careers.
As part of the PR Institute committee, what types of initiatives or outcomes do you most want to provide to our members?
One of my biggest goals is to help professionals across the region expand their networks and grow their careers. I previously served as a committee member for PRSA Philly's Emerging Professionals Committee and recently transitioned to the board as co-chair of PR Institute. In both roles, my focus has been on connecting communicators with experienced mentors, fostering meaningful professional relationships and creating opportunities for practical, real-world learning.
What drives you daily in your day job, and what do you take from that work and bring to PRSA Philly?
What motivates me every day is helping people tell their stories in a way they may not have been able to on their own. Whether it's elevating a brand, highlighting a meaningful initiative or sharing someone's personal story, I love helping clients connect with the audiences who need to hear it. I bring that same passion to PRSA Philly by helping create opportunities for communications professionals to learn, connect and find a supportive community throughout their careers.
What are some of the biggest challenges our sector is facing, and how does PRSA Philly help PR practitioners navigate them?
Public relations is evolving faster than ever. Between AI, changing media landscapes, shrinking newsrooms and the increasing demand to do more with fewer resources, communications professionals have to be constantly learning and adapting. PRSA Philly helps practitioners navigate those challenges by creating opportunities to share knowledge, learn from industry leaders and build relationships with peers who are experiencing many of the same challenges. Having that community is invaluable in an industry that's always changing.
Do you have a mentor or someone who deeply influenced you?
Absolutely. My colleague, Angelica Flynn, APR, has had an incredible impact on my career. She took me on as an intern and dedicated countless hours to mentoring me—not only teaching me the fundamentals of media relations, but also showing me how to think strategically, navigate challenges with confidence and continue growing as a communications professional. I'm extremely grateful for everything she has done for me.
What are your hobbies?
I'm definitely a hobby collector! I love reading, baking, crocheting, dot journaling, gardening, and gaming. My list of hobbies is always growing.
