Happy September! It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over and fall is around the corner. I, for one, can’t wait to dress in long sleeves and cozy sweatpants again!
I would be remiss if I didn’t continue to hammer home the fact that the 2021 Pepperpot Awards will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. The Pepperpot Awards have become a long-standing tradition for Philadelphia-area PR professionals to join in recognizing the top PR campaigns, tactics, and professionals. The call for entries is open! Submit your entries by September 13 to take advantage of early bird pricing. Keep in mind, the final deadline for entries is October 8. I encourage you to start thinking about all the great work you did this past year and submit today! Don't forget to mark your calendars to join the celebration on December 1 at The Lucy. I can’t wait to see everyone again.
You asked, we listened! A few months ago you completed a survey about the type of programming you’d like to see from PRSA Philadelphia. Many of you said you wanted more programs tied to social media. Well, you’re in luck! On September 20, from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., PRSA will offer #Trending: A Social Media Deep Dive. During this virtual panel discussion we'll highlight key social media trends, explore how social media platforms are changing, and touch on how communicators can leverage these platforms to engage with key stakeholders. Moderated by our own Communications Co-Chair, Taylor Feldschneider, the event will feature Philadelphia-area social media leaders and influencers. See below for registration details.
Beginning in October, we're hosting the PRSA Philadelphia APR Excellence Program, a four-week Accredited in Public Relations (APR) preparation program available exclusively to PRSA Philadelphia members. Check out the details below.
Hope to see you all soon!
Best,
Michele Besso
President, PRSA Philadelphia
